Tell us about your journey within football and how you initially got into coaching?
I started playing football when I was 3 when I saw my brothers and his friends playing and winning a football game on PS2. It looked fun and they were so passionate about it they always talk about football, either a video game or real life, and when my dad bought me a football that’s how I started. I would bring it everywhere, to school, water park, swimming pool, friends house, cousin’s house. One time I even brought it in my cousin’s wedding!
When I was 8 years old, I joined Lao Toyota Academy and when I turned 12 I joined Lanexang United. At 16 I began playing for Vientiane Football team, but when I was 16 I had a major knee injury so I have to stop as a player and then my coaching career start.
What is your favourite team and who is your favourite player?
My Favorite team is Manchester United and my Favorite player is Wayne Rooney.
One reason is as I remember that’s the first football jersey I got.
Who’s been your biggest influence within football (as a coach or a player)?
There were two major influence for me. First as a Player is my bigger brother, Alikato Keorasavong. He is the one that influence me in what professional do he taught me in lots of ways not just as a player but as a human being.
Second as a coach right now, Mr. David Neale is my big influence how he thinks and how he handle with situation leads us coaches to really good ways.
What do you love most about coaching?
I believe all coach love seeing their players succeed in a lot of way seeing the player develop and see that player enjoy the football that we all do.
XLR8 is one of the most professional working environment the player are developing in everyday.
And XLR8 giving a lot of opportunity to the coach and the coach can really grow.
Describe a moment that has challenged you as a coach and how did you overcome it?
The moment that challenged me the most as a coach is when the player don’t feel enjoy playing when the player have no passion to play I overcome it by talk to them individually ask how they were doing make them feel comfortable to talk to me not just a football but they everyday make them feel like I always got their back.
What advice would you give to someone to improve as a coach or as a player?
For me, being confident is the key of success. Believe in yourself.
In one word, describe your role as a coach.
I see myself as a cargo ship; I want to carry them to the destination and help players achieve their dreams and goals.
