XLR8 Holiday Clinics Back with a Bang!

Our XLR8 Player Development programs kicked off 2019 with our January Holiday Clinics!

Players from across the association descended upon North Turramurra Recreation Area and Charles Bean Oval for three days of fun and football development.

Our coaches had a fantastic time teaching the players new skills and we’re sure the players did too! Check out our Holiday Clinic wrap-up video below.

Football School, Goalkeeper Academy and Women’s Skill Training are back for Term 3!

With the July holidays seeing record registration numbers, we’re excited to XLR8 into spring with all our Term 3 programs as the NSFA club season draws to a close.

Details remain similar to Term 2 for all programs, with the exception of a location change for Tuesday Women’s Skill Training, which will now take place at the Lindfield Sports Centre.

XLR8 Football School: Pre-Season Training!

Running on Mondays and Fridays across two venues, Charles Bean Oval in Lindfield (Mondays and Fridays) and NTRA in North Turramurra (Fridays only), Football School is the perfect way to get extra training in before the season starts!

Our experienced coaches deliver 1 hour sessions aimed at developing technical skills, we even have dedicated goalkeeping coaches with Matildas and National Youth League playing experience!

30 New Coaches for XLR8 Development Programs

On Sunday NSFA welcomed 30 new coaches to the XLR8 Player Development Programs in an event held at Lindfield Sports Centre.

XLR8, previously known as NSFA Football School, offers NSFA clubs and players with a variety of training programs to supplement their football development.

“Our key goal through XLR8 is to strengthen the technical foundation for all players in the region,” explained NSFA Community Football Manager Ed Ferguson.

“XLR8 coaches will provide professional and structured coaching to each of our programs, which aim to meet the various needs of both clubs and individual players in the association.”

Ferguson made an introductory presentation to the coaches before splitting them into groups, where they were then provided with discussion topics about various aspects of coaching.

Ferguson then delivered a coaching workshop on the synthetic fields at the Sports Centre, with the day finishing with a barbeque lunch.
